Be Warned Love isn't welcome here, No matter how pure your intentions may be. I do tend to hold onto my past, Moving on is hard for me. I'm doing myself a disservice, Yes I know that's very true. But I'm simply protecting my heart, I suggest you do the same too. You can try to break down this wall, It protects my heart so dear. Punching walls will give you bloody knuckles, And scars that will last for years. One of us is already hurting, If you stick around it will be two. You can try to win over this situation, But I'm determined for you to lose.

About the Author
Born in Fort Smith, Arkansas, I’ve lived life abroad as the son of a U.S. Army officer and as an enlisted man in the U.S. Air Force myself. Over the years, I’ve come to call Shreveport, Louisiana home, being that I’ve spent the majority of my military career there. For years I’ve been told that I have a natural skill for writing. It wasn’t until a few years ago that I started to appreciate this gift. But even then, I still couldn’t see myself using this skill for the purpose of writing a book. First, I don’t have an overactive imagination, so a fictional book wasn’t an option for me. Second, I’m far from famous, so an autobiography wasn’t an option either. Then I realized that poetry was a way of expressing myself in short form. My poems are true, not fiction, and almost any reader can relate to them. At some point in life we have all loved someone, been hurt by someone, and/or gone through a rollercoaster of emotions. Inspiration had been lacking, and my creative gas tank was on empty during moments of writing this book; writers block. Thus it took longer to finish than I had originally planned. Now that I am pleased with the finished product, I hope you enjoy reading this book numerous times in the years that follow. – Osband Thompson II
