About the Author
My name is Harry Wesley Youngblood Jr. born on August 14, 1965 in Chicago, Illinois to Harry and Aysha Youngblood. I am the oldest of their four children and number seven of the ten children by my mom. I have a son (Tony) who will be 25 in December 2012 and a grand-daughter (Kinsley) who recently turned 1. I served in the United States Army for 20 years in the Logistics field (76P and 92A) and I am now working in that same field as a civilian. At present both of my parents live with me and God has blessed me to be able to abundantly care for my parents. In the Promises of God, I Have Hope is the second book being published; the first one being (Put Some Honey on It). I had thought that I would have been came out with the second book before now, it’s been 5 years between the two, but I find it peculiar how change of events took place recently to get to this point. I had written this poem titled “I Seen Love” and I recited it on the phone to a friend and I was telling her that once I write a poem for my Aunt Dorothy then I’ll be ready to publish the second book. Two days later on March 23, 2012 while at work that morning, it had rained and started clearing up when I looked into the sky then picked up my pen and proceeded to write two poems. The first being “A Penny for Your Thoughts” and then “Matriarch…Thinking of You Aunt Dorothy” and things have just been falling into place ever since. Praise God! I’m elated and grateful!
