The Helpless King

Once upon a time, there lived a huge and fierce lion. His name was Ponda. He was hairy from the top of his head to his paws, and his head was the size of the peak of Mount Everest. Ponda was well-known throughout the jungle. The mere sight of the big cat created fear in everyone—his peers, foes, and victims alike would take to the hills. In the whole jungle, no other animal had the power to inspire awe in others as the big cat. No animal stood any chance in a fight with him. He was both unfriendly and very unpredictable. Rumor had it that Ponda had the strength of five lions put together. Owing to his unstable character and enormous strength, every animal avoided him as a matter of precaution. He was called the king of the jungle. In fact, this king had total command of his entire kingdom, and he seemed to have accepted that title very well. One day, however, as strong and powerful and fiery as Ponda was, he was no match to the real king, Mother Nature.

About the Book
An awe-inspiring king who had the total command of his kingdom was reduced to nothing by Mother Nature. He was robbed of his majesty and became a beggar. Homeless, debased, and demoralized, the king lion went begging from house to house. At the end he was offered a place but was soon tossed out, because he does not keep his promise.
About the Author
I was born in Cameroon and grew up writing on the walls and on every door of our home. To others, some writings made sense, and some did not. But all made sense to me. I showed these writings in white chalk to my friends whenever they came around; it was the only thing I had to show, and that was all we looked at. I wrote about anything. After coming to the United States, I attended Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey, graduating with a bachelor of science in accounting. Later I attended Widener University, Chester, Pennsylvania, graduating with a master’s in business administration. Currently I serve as a senior tax auditor with the Department of Revenue, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. In my spare time I write a lot about anything, most of it fiction and poetry.
