About the Book

The Proud Guns of Thompus Towns The Great Western Saga is based on tales and legends of the Old West and its lawless towns where the six-gun ruled. This western saga is also based on over twenty wild west adventure stories by the author. Sage-brushes and tumbleweed-longhorn cattle, wild horses and jimson seed. You will see how one powerful man organized three lawless towns as a haven for outlaws, and then realized his mistake. This story has in it original characters and adventures of the old west dating as far back as sixty years. Though fictional in nature, the story holds an era of possibilities and common sense. There are some facts and some truths (besides words from the preachers) to be found in the story. You can get deep into the minds of most of the characters – see what they are thinking and understand their reasoning. There are feuds, fistfights, romance- much romance-heartbreak, gunfights in the room, in the house, in the saloons and in the street. There is horse racing, boxing wrestling, weddings, there is feasting and festivities, dancehall girls, cowgirls, gun girls and yes there is drinking, gambling, taunting, badgering cheating and there are even church services. There are prison scenes, jail scenes clever escapes, there are town meetings, courthouse scenes courthouse justice and there are stagecoach hold ups and bank robberies just to name a few of the adventures you will find in this book.

About the Author

My name is Chester W McNeal and I reside in the football hall of Fame city, Canton, Ohio. I was born in a small town called Waynesburg and I have learned that people have always been interested and excited about the old west. I am a fellow who has been writing about the old west since my early childhood. I made up my own characters, even though some of them might have been based on other characters, I had my own unique style. I drew all my comics and stories and passed them out for others to read. Throughout grade school and high school in my spare time I was making my homemade comic books. I made mostly westerns, but also drew stories of cartoon characters. There was a Mickey Mouse so I made up Mundy Mouse. There was Homer Pigeon so I had Pidge the Homer. I had my cartoon characters and they each had their own stories in my homemade comic book that I made from composition books. I had ten or twelve different characters and they each had their own different characters. There were jungle animal stories, detective and private eye stories, super heroes, you name it, I had my own characters. I started to draw one more western story, I changed my mind and wrote this book instead based on two or three different of my original stories. I also wrote over fifty songs. Sometimes I would start another story before I finished one. ‘This book is the first of a series. I am a born again believer and received Jesus Christ as my Savior at an early age. My Grandfather, Simon Peter McNeal was a pastor and raised us to be in the church and that is important to me.
