Tears of Eleven Years

Have you ever? Have you ever loved someone with all your might? And then a couple fights at night Makes you lose sight of what’s right. Have you ever been hurt so bad? That it seems as if you’re always sad. And it makes you wish, you could have back what you once had Have you ever cried so much That you lose all of your inner touch? Have you ever dealt with depression, intense aggression? And Thursday evening counseling sessions? Have you ever wanted to not be born Because your heart and soul was so badly torn? Have your tears ever ran deeper than your fears? Have you ever held a knife with great spirit and grace And knew that when it was over you would be in a different place? Have you ever wanted to hurt others Because you had to protect yourself as if you were your own mother? Have you ever felt like you fell out of the nest of happiness And landed directly in the land of the worst sadness? Have you ever felt any of the things I feel? Are you like me waiting for the painful emotions to heal? Sadness is Contagious Sadness is contagious It’s filled with it’s own rages Sitting up crying, thinking about dying Asking myself “Why and….” Screaming and hollering, no more patience and tolerance Some sit and think Some sip and drink Some can’t even blink Sadness is contagious When I see hurting eyes, I’m not surprised I drop my head and wonder why Sadness is contagious Depression, I went through My anger grew and grew Couldn’t take it, glass I wanted to break it No more tolerance, but kept on hollering Sadness is contagious And for a moment I had to deal with it’s rages.
