About the Book
Beautiful Me! is the introductory story to the author’s up and coming curriculum entitled Beautiful Beginnings ©. It strives to provide young learners with a world filled with positive experiences, an increased sense of self worth , creative and diverse learning opportunities, higher order thinking, and fun filled activities that are sure to keep Early Childhood learners actively engaged and ahead of their peers. In this story, Early Childhood learners will discover that uniqueness is a beautiful gift and that every person in this world is different in many ways. They will learn that beauty exists in all shapes, sizes, and colors. Young readers will feel great about themselves and others as they read the text and study the vibrant illustrations provided at each turn of the page!
About the Author
Ashley Lewis-Cook is an educator within the Texas public school system. She is from a small town by the name of Maurice, La. There she was raised in a loving and caring faith filled family with her mother, father, and two brothers. After graduating from the University of Texas system, she became an educator. Her experience includes education administration, early childhood, elementary, intermediate, and high school education in public, private and alternative school settings. She also served as VP of Student Services for a well known charter school system founded in the state of Texas. Ashley currently resides in Texas with her loving husband, Sgt. John L. Cook (educator/ coach/ behavioral specialist) and her wonderful son Donald “Tre’” Broussard III. In her spare time she enjoys cooking authentic Cajun dishes as well as delicious Soul Food recipes she inherited from her grandmother. She also enjoys shopping, reading, watching movies with family, and attending her son’s sporting events.
