The Lost Carrot

About the Book

The carrot has been sitting in the shadow of a big oak tree for some time now. He is convinced that he will never grow as big as the other carrots in the garden. He sets out on a quest to be free from the shadow and to find sunlight. During his adventure, the carrot makes some new friends and also finds courage and strength within himself that he never knew he had. He finally realizes that home in his garden is where he belongs.

About the Author

It was my son’s bedtime and as I was putting him to sleep, I started to admire his bookcase filled with books that were given to my family from all of our loved ones. I had remembered some conversations that I had earlier that year with my friends and we were discussing children’s books. At that point in my life, I hadn’t told anyone about the children’s book I had written when I was in grammar school. As nervous as I was, I decided to open up and tell them the story. The story was about a carrot who ventured out into the forest and it was very symbolic of how we all try to find our own place in the world. Later on, I began to think about the storyline and to have imagined such a powerful thought as a child, just astonished me. That day I made a decision to bring my book from my past into my future. When we read to our children at a young age, it can have an everlasting effect on their lives. I believe that to make a change in this world, we need to make a positive impact on our children. I hope this story helps you so that you can find your place in this world. You may find out that you are exactly where you are meant to be!
