About the Book

This book is about one woman’s journey as she shares her stories through recollected adversities she faced growing up in a dysfunctional home being exposed to the street and drug life at an early age. She vividly tells of different accounts she had to experience beginning with her mother’s drug addicted pregnancy, family neglect, rape, drug use, and continuous death. She explains how all of these destructive and stumbling blocks were later used for a greater purpose. Her hopeless future turned into a born-again and promising future into what she never thought or imagined. This story can be used to encourage people who lives seem to be going in one direction and learn how God can turn things around- for better.

About the Author

Serenia Farrell born Serenia Redmond at St. Joseph Hospital in Paterson, NJ to Dolores Redmond in 1972. Being born in an unexpected, premature and breeched pregnancy is when Serenia began her life’s journey of bringing God glory. Surrounded by despair and unfortunate circumstances she was able to escape what statistics might have predicted as a hopeless future. Not knowing God had predestined her to greatness despite her obstacles. In June 2000 Serenia began her relationship with Jesus Christ and her eyes were opened to her real destiny and purpose of life. She was able to see that it was God that brought her though all of life’s difficulties and set her before greatness despite of what was predicted. Her insurmountable hurdles lead her to believe she was a mistake, worthless and insignificant. But God mapped a plan that intercepted that and was able to accomplish great things throughout her. Serenia has been able to be the first to graduate high school in her family, earning her college degree with no stable residency, establishing a professional career in elementary education, mentor, and most of all a true servant of God. Serenia earned her Bachelors of Art in Communication concentrating in Television Production and a minor in African American Studies at Ramapo Collage. Currently she teaches first grade for Irvington Public Schools. June 2000 to May 2007 she had devoted her life to serving in various ministries such as singles, prison, evangelizing team and closely serving where needed at Love of Jesus Family Church of Newark, NJ. Currently she worships at Love of Jesus World Outreach Center in Paterson, NJ as a devoted wife and mother of three lovely children.
