One day when mommy and daddy came to visit, the fair-haired child and the dark-haired, laid back boy went to play in the Eagle's Nest in The Family Tree. Elijah put on Papa's red and black flannel shirt and his big old boots, and wrapped the dark-haired, laid back boy in Uncle Brian's red and black flannel shirt. They dressed up for an adventure none of us would forget.

Jean A. Vanderlinden is the author and illustrator of The Family Tree. Her imagination is infinite, to create a book that never existed before is the fuel for her creativity. Her hobbies include story writing, chainsaw carving, and acrylic painting. She also enjoys gardening and landscaping. She lives in Two Rivers, Wisconsin with her husband, two grown children, and two grandchildren.
