About the Book
On the frontline of the battle field between good and evil, exists a ball park that can only be visited through possession of an antique baseball glove or the finality of life changing events and decisions. It is truly a no man’s land and the location where a bond of eternal friendship is forming, between a ball player, who fell short of his dreams, and a young prospect, who eagerly wants to achieve his. One has made a life changing mistake and wants a second chance or at least a shot at absolution, while the other is oblivious to the forces of good and evil that are literally tearing his soul apart. Will these two lost souls find their way to the promised land, or will the forces of evil prevail? There’s a war going on and they play for keeps. The only question left is: who will be the last casualty of “THE MAGIC GLOVE ”?
About the Author
A 1992 graduate of Western Connecticut State University, Mr. Agnello took his time growing up. The former Weston (Connecticut) High School standout quarterback, from 1977&1978 started college at Western Connecticut and won varsity letters in football his freshmen and sophomore years and in the fall of 1979 had his breakout moment as he returned the opening kickoff of the homecoming game, 90 yards for a touchdown against Plymouth State College. The next year, he would transfer to Southern Connecticut State University and “red shirt”, meaning, sit out a season, in the hope of landing the starting quarterback job there. It was not to be. While attending Southern Connecticut he studied to be a coach and became a pioneer in the brand new “male exotic dancing business” that was becoming a fad all over America. The next season he went back to play for Western Connecticut but the passion was not there anymore. He quit and became a favorite with the “Chippendale style” reviews that toured throughout New York and New England. As a headliner he co-featured with male model and future poker star, Downtown Chad Brown and made appearances at the hottest clubs of the day. In 1986, he gave the professional acting business a try. He studied at Lee Strasberg in NYC and made cameos on ABC’s, “Ryan’s Hope” and “One Life to Live”. He also appeared on CBS’s, “Guiding Light”. He and his stripping monkey, Mr. Mike appeared as guests on Regis Philbin and Kathy Lee Gifford’s show and made a prime time appearance on Margaret Colin’s show, “Leg Work”. He’s had bit parts in Spike Lee’s film, “Crooklyn” and Nicolas Cage’s, “Kiss of Death” among others. He credits the Strasberg “method” for his engaging mastery of lively dialogue. In 1992 he went back to college and finished his degree earning a bachelor’s degree in English Writing. Shortly after, he officially retired from performing in the male burlesque industry and focused on managing the careers of professional female exotic dancers. By 2001, he had become the celebrity adult entertainment agent, “The World Famous Cousin Vinny”, appearing as a studio guest, with Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity, and Judith Regan. He was intimately involved in the “Stripper Gate Scandal”, AKA, “The Horace Greeley High School Stripper Scandal” and the “Chappaqua High School Stripper Scandal”. He has appeared on numerous national news broadcasts and radio shows. His battles with “Judge Jeanine Pirro” are legendary. He stood toe to toe with her, battling the hypocrisy of the former Westchester County District Attorney’s tyrannical reign over that upper crust section of suburban New York state. While Pirro’s attempts to silence him failed in 2004, he again was subjected to persecution in 2008, by the people who run Subway Restaurants, a corporation called Doctor’s Associates Incorporated. It’s been alleged that DAI’s management team connived and conspired to defraud Mr. Agnello out of his Subway Restaurant franchise. He was allegedly duped through the receipt of a deceitful registered letter filled with lies and misrepresentations, into failing to remedy stated violations of the franchise agreement in an alleged conspiracy between an employee in the corporate legal department and the District Representative overseeing the territory where the restaurant was located. The alleged plan was to create a hardship business situation for Mr. Agnello, compelling him to sell back the franchise to the District Representative at an incredible discount. The restaurant would then be allegedly resold to Subway insiders for a large profit that would be allegedly split between the conspirators. Agnello did not fall for the alleged scam and is currently suing DAI for fraud, negligent misrepresentation and fraudulent inducement. Shortly after failing to cooperate with DAI’s scam, Agnello’s new restaurant was destroyed in a break in and he was lured to and shot twice on Beekman Avenue in Sleepy Hollow, NY. Both incidents occurred within a two month span, shortly after his bitter split with the people from Subway Restaurants. As of this date, no one has been arrested. Agnello recovered from the shooting and currently resides in Sun City Center, FL. This is his first novel. The author believes that his colorful past gives him greater insight into the lights of the people we meet in our daily lives. He truly hopes you enjoy the adventure.
