About the Book

A poem is a story and most of the ones found here have a message. Sometimes words come from deep inside. One only has to listen for an honest expression of feelings and words sent from the heart. The contents of this book speak for the writer. As these lines were shared with others, favorable remarks were received that the words helped them in their own life. "God Sends the Words, I Only Hold the Pen" is mostly a collection of poems written to ease the painful path through grief and to glorify God who was there for every step along the way.

About the Author

ELAINE LONG began to write poems from her heart in an attempt to comfort her own grief after the death of her husband of many years. After sharing some poems with others, she finally yielded to the strong encouragement of friends and family to publish her poems. This is her debut book however she has edited an organizational newsletter for many years, Some of these poems have been printed in the newsletter. She has had poems published in the National Brittany Rescue Newsletter this year. She is a Georgia native born in a simple country setting and lives in the suburbs of Atlanta with her spoiled Brittany spamiel. She enjoys writing, photography, and time at the beach. The photos here were taken by Mrs. Long, with the exception of the lighthouse/moon picture.
