Children of the world Your child will grow slow and steady Anything could happen each day so you have to be ready The child is yours to love and protect But some children aren’t as lucky and face neglect These children also need our love As they are all children of the lord above These children are not so lucky in life Most of them have no homes and most are in strife This is not a nice way to live or play Yet they do their best to get through each day Other people are ungrateful for what they have got They don’t use manners or education they have been taught But all children need our love and care This will make a better world which we all share.

About the Book
Hello my name is Charles O’Rourke. I have been writing poems for many years, this is my fi rst book but I am very proud of this book. There is no denying that everybody has their own form of poetry and there are many different types of poems, mine however are personal. Some are based on incidents that have happened to me; others have happened to people that I know. I have never been good at showing emotion or telling people how I feel so writing poetry was and still is my way of getting my feelings out. I hope you enjoy reading these poems as much as I have enjoyed writing them.
