A Garden of Memories

Carrot Bay is the village of my birth, It can be found on Tortola, over on the north. On one side there are hills and on the other the sea. I can’t think of another place on earth I would rather be. It may be small, my beloved community But many have left their mark in society; We have farmers, teachers, sailors and musicians, Bakers, builders, midwives and fishermen. At the mention of your surname one knows where you’re from, For Carrot Bay is home to mostly Donovans Throw in some Smiths, Dawsons, Leonards, and Callwoods, Add Cooper and Hederington and that’s our neighborhood. Born and bred right here at home Are some fine educators we can call our own; Some have passed on but many are around, Such as Beverly, Monica, Glenda and Cassandra Brunn Eugenie, Sylvia, Madlin and Elaine Lewis, Alicia, Olive, Naomi and Isabella Morris. Clarice, Cathleen, Janice and Josephine And most of them started teaching in their teens.
