It had been a long, cold winter, and everyone was ready for Spring. Mrs. Bear stretched, yawned and came to her feet, as her stomach growled loudly. "Oh my" said Mrs. Bear "I am so hungry". She began to walk around the cave checking for the slight trace of a small snack, left in a picnic basket. Finally, she looked in the dark, cool corner of the cave, and there it was, a large, brown picnic basket! It was covered with a soft, gray web. The handle was broken, and Mrs. Spider sat on the side. "Good morning Mrs. Bear " said Mrs. Spider. "I knew you would wake up soon, so I protected your breakfast for you". "Mrs. Bear smiled and said "thank -you Mrs. Spider, while her stomach growled even louder. She gently pulled back the soft web and said "Mrs. Spider would you care to join me for breakfast"? "No thank you" said Mrs. Spider, "I have errands to run" "Enjoy your breakfast"! Mrs. Bear pulled out a small fish and some red grapes, that had turned into plump, juicy raisins. "Yum" said Mrs. Bear, this will have to do until I go to the market. After breakfast, she straightened up her den, made her bed and called her friends, Mrs. Giraffe and Mrs. Elephant.

About the Book
This book is about three friends who haven’t seen each other for a long time because one friend is a hibernating bear. They are excited about visiting with each other while they shop at the market. After their shopping is complete, they begin to walk home. On their way home, a peculiar dark cloud appears. It begins to blow evil things in their ears, causing them to complain. Wait and see what happens in the end as they realize that it’s not good to complain.
About the Author
Ms. Miller is an author who is seeing her dream come true. She has written poetry, dedications, and programs for family members and friends. However, this is her first publication. She received her formal education in Indianapolis, Indiana, graduating from Crispus Attucks High School in 1967 and Marian College in 2005. She has worked in the school system as a parent liaison, teacher’s assistant, and a student behavior facilitator. Her love for children shines through as she strives to teach them how to be the best they can be. In this book, the characters experience a life-changing situation that causes them to be thankful for who they are. Ms. Miller gives the credit and praise to the Lord for giving her this idea on a stormy July night.
