About the Author
Lorene Burkhart grew up in Southern Indiana in a era when the concept of a career for woman, other than marriage and family, was not even considered. Girls were nurses or teachers after college until they married. Then the Feminine Revolution arrived and sent them scurrying to figure out what happened to their lives. Careers were born and life would never be the same. This book tells the stories of many women who faced adversities as they sorted through the shambles of their unexpected twists and turns. Hope was born and lived changed as the women discovered new directions and meaning for their lives. Lorene Burkhart's career included broadcasting, corporate executive, author and publisher. She is a graduate of Purdue University where she hold an Honorary Doctor Degree.
