About the Author

Pamela Russell was born Pamela "Thoms" in Nova Scotia, Canada in 1965. Raised primarily on Vancouver Island, she moved to the United States to live with her American mother in her late teens. She is now married and a mother of two. During the early years with her children, and as a military wife, Pamela moved around the country and the world, including 4 years in Peru. During these periods of instability, she enjoyed the continuity of volunteering and helping her children and other children learn the joy of reading. Reading is all about the love for words and the visions they create. Reading can be a powerful tool as well. In this electronic age of internet, social media, and online games, we should all remember to take a moment to read with our children, and perhaps grab the opportunity to teach them at the same time.
