Using the fact that ""monkeys like bananas,"" this author takes you on a journey of places where bananas may be found, and at each place, monkeys illustrate it humorously and uniquely. Every aspect is wonderfully described in both English and Spanish, pages side by side. Monkeys and bananas travel from the school cafeteria, to the supermarket, to countries and continents--and to the growing fields. Shipping docks, trucks and warehouses-- the delivery of bananas right to the supermarket and school are delightfully taught and illustrated. Ingenious! After reading this book to my 3 1/2 year-old grandson, his reaction to it was unlike his reaction to any other book I've ever read to him. He said, ""Grandma, I want to take this book home with me."" That says it all."
