About the Book

Scott Gunn has a successful career with All About Houston, a regional magazine that’s well, all about Houston. At twenty-eight, he’s considered one of the most innovative art directors in the state of Texas. He’s smart, attractive, well liked, and respected; everything a young man could hope for himself. Although his professional life is taking off faster than he dared dream, his personal life so far has been something less than stellar. Paul McCoy was kicked out of his parent’s house in Lubbock, Texas when he was only sixteen and for the past fi ve years he’s managed to survive by using his charm and unbelievable good looks. His life has fi nally stabilized with steady work and an income better than he ever expected. The one thing he’s searching for is someone he can depend on and trust. Someone who is interested in more than a pretty face. A chance meeting on Thanksgiving eve brings the two together. A mutual need plus unexpected events conspire to keep them in each other’s lives. From society parties in Houston to fashion shoots in Chicago and family holiday celebrations in the historic city of Natchitoches, Louisiana, their relationship grows at a frightening pace. Will people from Paul’s past ruin what they have or will Scott’s indecisiveness challenge their relationship? Can they hold on to what they’ve built or will success ultimately tear them apart?

About the Author

Guy Lamar has been involved in various aspects of the publishing business for most of his professional life, with the last few years being dedicated to writing about human interest, general business, and technical subjects. He’s been writing fictional stories almost as long and until now, has only shared them with family and friends. His writing mostly covers what he likes to call, slice-of-life topics; the ‘what-if’ scenarios when you overhear a bit of conversation in the market, see two people walking in the park, or watch a lonely lady crossing the street. After all, life can be very interesting and we all have a story to tell, even if it’s only make believe. Some of Guy’s stories are taken from actual events and others are inspired by the interesting people he has met, but all are embellished from an active imagination and a somewhat unusual sense of humor. Life has taken Guy from his native Louisiana, to Texas and Utah, with a few brief side trips to London and Leeds, England. He loves to travel but more importantly, he loves to watch the crazy drama that we all call life. Life can be great or life can be lousy but most of all, life should be lived. Guy’s permanent residence is in north central Louisiana but where he’s living right now depends on when you are reading this. He has been fortunate to have the support of a loving family who, for better or worse, sometimes find aspects of themselves in the characters he creates. Guy’s next intended work is a collection of short stories because they are already written; however, the characters in A Package Deal haven’t stopped talking, so there is no telling what the future may bring.
