Agondray

“Ella” Pappy said “The dragon you saw, what did it look like?” “Oh no” groaned Ben. “Why?” asked Ella, “Just tell me” said Pappy with a smile. “Well” Ella began, “It looked like a cloud, oh and it seemed sad” she said softly. “What else can you tell me?” asked Pappy. “It bowed its head at me and then carried on across the sky. I wasn't scared.” She said. “What is it Pappy” asked Ben “What do you know?” Pappy turned to Ella. He had a worried look on his face. “One more question Ella, did it have anything around its neck” “No. I don't think so. Why?” asked Ella. “I had hoped this day would never come”. Ben looked up, his face full of questions and at the same time trying not to look interested because he thought it might just be one of Pappy's stories. “What did you say Pappy? What do you mean?” “The Amulet is missing” said Pappy “What's that?” Said Ben impatiently but still trying to seem disinterested. “Agondray's Amulet. The Dragon you saw is called Agondray. I know it was him because he bowed to you. The other Dragons would not have done that.” “Other Dragons?” Said Ben and Ella together. I'll tell you the story” said Pappy “Agondray was the guardian of the clouds. He was the biggest, bravest and most respected Dragon next to King Razil. The King and his wife, Queen Zeya ruled over the whole of Cloud land from the main city called Gibiuss. It was the most beautiful city you have ever seen. The floor was white clouds with a clear blue sky. An incredible castle stood in the centre of the city. The roof top glistened like crystals. The castle itself looked like it was made from precious stones, diamonds, rubies and emeralds all shimmering in the sun. The castle was surrounded by lots of houses where all the dragons of Gibiuss lived. They were friendly dragons and would do anything to help a friend or neighbour. It was a very peaceful city...... at least it was.
