About the Book
Elphy Grey is the story of an eight-year-old boy, Paul, who has moved into a new home and is spending a very lonely and boring summer. One day, as he is exploring in the basement, he finds something that changes his life. Paul uses imagination and magic to overcome loneliness. Elphy Grey is a story that will help children understand how important their imaginations are in overcoming family and personal problems.
About the Author
Carol L. Levy spent forty-five years as a reading teacher; a director of English Language Arts, reading and school libraries; teaching graduate courses in children’s literature and literacy; and traveling to Guatemala to help teachers enhance their curricula and develop strategies for teaching reading. She has published articles and lessons for teachers to teach content area curricula utilizing children’s and teen literature. Her love of children’s books has led her to acquire a personal collection of hundreds of books.
Carol L. Levy has been an avid reader of all genres. She started a book club in her school district for teachers and an evening club where she lived, running both for many years. She continues to co-chair a book club in her new hometown of Boynton Beach, Florida.
Carol L. Levy shares her love of reading now with her grandsons Luca and Coda.
