My father and mother decided to go to America. They had to go to London, England to catch a ship- My father with the two oldest children went to customs first and told my mother, he will meet her at the ship. My mother had the three small children, but one had the German measles and customs told her she has to stay until she got over the measles. Just then the whistle of the ship blew and the ship left. My mother had no money and no place to go

About the Book
My story is about as a boy living in the Great Depression of 1928 after the death of my father my mother was left to raise us. At the age of sixteen my mother bought an old farm house in Northwest Sullivan County, a mile from our nearest neighbor or electric, no phone and no running water. Had to heat the house with two wood stoves. It was a struggle for five years it was good.
About the Author
I started writing my story at the age of eighty five years. My highest school education was graduation from jr high school in New York City. Most of my learning came from reading good books, and my experience in life
