Come along and spend some time with the twins, Angela and Carolee and find out what makes them happy! They live just outside of town on a farm with their mom and dad. They have learnt how to be good helpers for their mom by making their own beds in the mornings, setting the table before meals and helping clean off the table after meals. They both enjoy drying the dishes too! Because they are such good little helpers, their mom lets them bring Germaine and Pokey, the cats, into the house to play. The adventure they have with the cats in the house turns into more than what they had bargained for! On purpose, the girls forget to take the cats back to the barn and hide them in the bedroom. In the morning, there is a huge surprise for all of them! They have come to realize that life on a farm is always full of surprises! About the Book
Angela and Carolee are twin girls who live on a farm with their mom and dad. Their mom has taught them how to do a lot of things that help her around the house. When they help out, they get rewarded by having the cats, Pokey and Germaine, come into the house to play. They have so much fun! They even dress them up in the doll clothes and give them rides in the doll carriages. One evening, they decide to hide the cats in their bedroom so they can keep them inside overnight. They get ready for bed and go to give hugs to their mom and dad. They scoot off to the bedroom and shut the door. When they awake in the morning, Pokey is on Angela’s bed but Germaine is missing! They look until they find her and what a surprise she has for them! They learn that life on the farm is always full of surprises!
About the Author
Dovie G. Therriault-Bruder grew up on a farm near Pincher Creek in the southern part of Alberta, Canada. Her parents, Edwin and Mildred, raised six boys and 3 girls of their own, and fostered approximately 45 other children from babes to teens. There was never a dull moment on the Therriault farm! Dovie took piano lessons which were paid for by taking along two dozen eggs for the teacher. She learned how ‘not’ to drive by taking down a gate and about twenty feet of fence with the tractor when she was about ten years old. She learned how to swim when she went too deep and heard her siblings yelling ‘swim, swim’ as she took on water! Dovie has so very many delightful experiences to share with others and this series of books entitled ‘Life on the Farm’ is meant to do just that. They are short, full of adventure and a lot of fun!
