Synopsis Tainted Bloodline
The story tells of a business man Hal Rubins who owns a nightclub as well as a vast estate of holiday properties inherited on the suspicious death of his second wife. He recently discovered an illegitimate son Andy and has married Janet, Andy's mother.
The story develops into an exciting drama of drugs, club life and murder. The police suspect the club is a cover for other illegal activities but can't prove anything.
Rebecca White a police detective hates what they stand for and spends many unofficial hours watching the club trying to get something on them. She does not know she has been recognized or that it will cost her, her life in a most horrific way.
Andy too dies but in a terrible accident where he is decapitated and Amanda who is Andy's wife inherits half of the estate.
Jacob, who is Hal's first born son estranged for many years suddenly turns up and works his way back into his father's affection. Hal does not know that Jacob is after the fortune to fund his extremist activities in Israel. He is unsuccessful in his attempt to kill Amanda and persuades Janet and Hal to travel to Israel with him for a holiday and to look at potentially opening holiday flats. Janet is kidnapped and killed execution style almost immediately. Jacob pretends to comfort his father but is in fact the courier for the extremist group. However he has no idea that the Israeli secret police have been watching them for some time and have also had contact from the UK police as they believe that Hal Rubins and his wife may be in danger.
Adam is a young detective under the supervision of Detective Inspector James Campbell who has advised Adam that if he insists on taking extended leave in Israel to keep an eye on Hal Rubins, he could not expect the protection of the UK police. Adam is aware of this but is sure that Hal Rubins although not squeaky clean is not the hardened crook that everyone thinks he is, or is he? Proving it one way or another is difficult.
Jacob who is a key member of an extremist group tries to kill Hal but he himself dies when one of the secret police shoots him causing a chain reaction and the leader of the extremist group accidently fires as he drops to the ground killing Jacob.
Later Hal dies of a cerebral hemorrhage and at the funeral Jacob's wife turns up demanding a share of the Rubins Empire. Fear of her belonging to a similar extremist group and fear for her son's life Amanda makes peace with her and gives her a portion of the estate.
Adam buys the club for his partner in life Michael who manages a gay bar but has always wanted his own business.
Having settles some of her debts Amanda makes her way abroad but wonders if because of the part she played in all of it, if she was only being allowed to live long enough to raise her child to take over the business. Everyone she ever cared for has died violently and she is aware of the lucky escape she had when Jacob tried to kill her. Perhaps she will live long enough to teach her son better values than she had been taught and certainly teach him that crime does not pay.
She prays that the sins of the father will not be visited on his son.
