Khaireen Ellyna (1978) was born in Batu Pahat, Johor. She grew up in Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia. The eldest amongst three sisters completed her Bsc. (Hons.) in Mass Communication (2002) majoring in Broadcasting from a local university.
With wit for writing, she has written many scripts for local TV productions which include telemovies, episodes & documentaries using sudoname Ummu Abu Bakr. Not contented having her work only for the national viewers, she moved on to writing a book. Thus, SHILAGON was started on the edge of 2010 after the idea first erupted 2 years before. The idea of SHILAGON was so exquisite that she decided it should be shared with all story lovers across the globe.
"In every culture I extent my knowledge into, I find stories of mythical dragons in their natural scenes. A story when retold would excite even the youngest child. These are the reasons I created SHILAGON."
Furthermore, it was the ultimate challenge from her beloved husband to write a story out of her usual genre...and they have eight beautiful children as her secret source of inspirations!
Having found once lost passion after painted the cover for SHILAGON, she now has a studio located in the heart of Swansea dedicated to her paintings. And of course, she still writes from her bedside table every other night when she’s not painting, "I will write as long as there is breath in my soul...and painting gives me peace. Some kind of reward I get to do after finishing at least a chapter."
SHILAGON is set to be a trilogy as the plot and Kingdom expand with the characters maturing within the centuries set farther. New maps, new lands, new breed will eventually evolve from the first book. Stay alert...there definitely is more to be rediscovered yet!
