About the Book
The Ming section of Great Wall built up in nearly 300 years (1368-1644) is well known around the world as an important fortification in ancient Chinese military defence system. However, the Great Wall in Ming Dynasty has many unknown exquisite relief carved stone works on the fortresses and castles, which add cultural content and human care on the military fortifications. The book introduces part of the representative art works found on the relief carved stones.
About the Author
Shanjun Zhao, Xiaojing Meng and Marina Chen, have carried on an investigation on the existing Great Wall of Chinese Ming Dynasty in the last five years. The research trip covering thousands of kilometers through many provinces. They discovered great many anaglyph stone carvings at the remains of Great Wall of Chinese Ming Dynasty and made careful researches. They recorded this research and wanted to present it to the world.
