About the Author
Deidre Porter earned her M.A. in Counseling form Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles and her B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Irvine. She has been a member of the counseling faculty at Cypress College since 1993. She was inspired to write "Ten Poems of Healing" after her husband, Richard, suffered a massive stroke and was hospitalized in May of 2006. She currently resides in Fountain Valley, California with her daughter, Rikki. She enjoys teaching, watching college basketball and pro football and spending as much time as possible traveling with her family.
