About the Author
John A. Potts was born to the parents of Charles & Mattie Potts on July 27, 1967, in Indianola, Mississippi, a small town located in the heart of the Mississippi Delta. Being the 10th child of nineteen children, he took up the interest of taking pictures at the young age of fifteen, by purchasing his first camera, a 35mm Yashica, that is on display in his office. Not knowing anything about cameras, he practiced by taking pictures of his childhood sweetheart and by going around town photographing the Indian Bayou, which flows through the town. And from that moment… he knew, that God had given him a gifted eye for photography. During the summer of 1984, (Alice) one of his older sisters noticed what he was doing and bought him a subscription to Photo Graphic Magazine. From that day on, he learned how to take pictures by reading magazines, studying other photographs and from the mistakes he made along the way. He now lives in Huntsville, Alabama, and is the owner of Potts Photography. Over the past 28 years he has built an inventory of breath-taking scenery, one of which is featured on the back of this book.
