my friends called me a bumble bee unknown, unspoken humble bee I’ll ask my weeping willow tree to help me find my destiny my father said “you’re such a mellow fellow chase your dreams, son, you’re an armadillo!” I'll learn to dash across the tracks I'll learn to float upon my back be careful to avoid the cracks don't want to break my mama's back I'll snarl at every passing train I'll holler at the hurricane “O-if you try to blow me down I'll bend the branches to the ground.”

About the Book
Augie is a young armadillo born in Sleepy Shallow, Louisiana, who dreams of dancing and playing the cello. He amasses the courage to stow away aboard an ocean liner headed for Rome. Along the way he makes some interesting friends and, of course, he is always under the vigilance of his secret guardian-the Wise Old Bird.
About the Author
Paul Boudousquie', artist and writer, from The University of New Orleans has been active throughout his life, writing short stories, songs and poetry. He is also an artist who shows his work at various galleries in New Orleans and Chicago. He owns a company in New Orleans-Armadillo Signs. "Augie Armadillo Goes To Rome" is his first published work.
