"My LEAVES are just fine, thank you Little Shrub", she said angrily, "and you know what trees are not just for animal homes, we have plenty of things we are meant for" she answered angrily. "She is right" said Mama Maples, "our leaves are used as a canopy from the sun's rays during the day and to hold the heat at night", she continued. "We make neighborhoods and forests like ours beautiful, we keep the air and water clean, we give off oxygen, provide shade, offer homes for the animals and special needs for our human friends".

About the Book
Our Family Trees is a sweet story explaining deforestation towards younger children. The book follows Mama Maples, Little Shrub, Mrs. Willow and the forest animals. It tells the story from their view explaining what they see their "jobs" are for existing, and their wishes for keeping our forests alive forever. This story explains what we wish our children to learn at an early age about respecting our planet and reversing damages that have already occured.
About the Author
Mary Finnigan has grown up and lived in Woodside, New York her whole life. She lives there with her husband David of 27 years along with their three children. She has successfully run a Summer Program for children for 15 years and recently has opened her own Nursery/Toddler School called SWEET DREAMZ. This is her first Children's Book.
