“My, Ashley, don’t you look very pretty today.” Mrs. Johnson said to a little girl in the front of the class. I wonder why she said that? I looked over to Ashley and was dazzled. She had on the prettiest flower earrings I had ever seen. Her lips were super shiny from a pretty pink lip gloss and her nails were painted pink with glitter. She did look very pretty. She even had on a dress with flowers on it. The boys in the class were very disgusted.

Ching Lan is having a rough day. Her mommy is not feeling well and Ching Lan wants to help her father take care of her mother. Ching Lan never realized all that her mother did for her until today. Now she realizes that her mom is amazing and she can’t wait until she gets better so that she can tell her how much she appreciates her. About the Author
Amani Jackson has a passion for writing children’s books. She has been interested in being an author since she elementary days in Newark, N.J. Her inspirations for writing children’s books have been her siblings and other authors of youth books such as Mildred D. Taylor and Peggy Parish. She enjoys creating stories that children can learn values and life lessons from. It is her fondest hope that parents and their children read together in the home to strengthen family bonds and reading skills. Ms. Jackson resides in Virginia, loves to attend events which allow her to interact with children and looks forward to writing many more books in the near future for her audiences.
