As Ashley sits between her mother and her new teacher, Mrs. Bailey, she becomes quiet and shy. Mrs. Bailey continues to speak to the class. "I'm sure all of you are wondering why Ashley is in a wheelchair. Ashley is disabled."

About the Book
Ashley goes to school for the first time and the outgoing little girl is very nervous to meet her classmates. She is unsure of how the other students will treat her due to her disability, Cerebral Palsy. After a brief introduction, Ashley, becomes herself and interacts with her classmates by playing a game. This book will help break stereotypes as it mainstreams people with disabilities into the community by educating children and adults that people with disabilities are smart and well able to have fun too.
About the Author
Angela Irick grew up in Humble, Texas and graduated from Humble High School in the year 2000. From there she completed four creative writing classes online through Kingwood Community College. Writing has always been a passion of hers and adding, "Ashley Wins the First Day of School" to her children's books publication, along with her first children's book "Sampson to the Rescue" is an accomplishment she holds very dear to her heart
