MarthaElin lives with her husband and black-and-white cat on California’s Central Coast where she maintains a private practice.


About the Author

MarthaElin Mountain, Ed.D., M.A., MFT, is a Jungian-based psychotherapist whose primary interest is the mind-body-spirit relationship to emotional healing and personal transformation. Dr. Mountain draws on 40+ years of acquired expertise and experience in her Psychology and Education careers. Her research and work in the dynamics of child and adult goal setting has appeared in professional publications and on the Guidance Channel e-zine. In recent years, MarthaElin Mountain has designed and presented several experiential, thought-provoking programs for midlife travelers and elders, including "Circle of Wisdom," "Exploring What Makes Life Meaningful," "Midlife Check-In for Proactive Women," and others. She has also initiated and implemented programs to include mental health support services within early childhood programs and senior living settings. MarthaElin Mountain's practice includes a specialization in the unique social-emotional risks and diagnostic challenges of giftedness. She is a consultant to gifted individuals, couples, families and to clinicians. She is often a speaker for schools and other groups on the social-emotional concerns related to giftedness. Dr. Mountain earned her graduate degrees in Education, Organizational Behavior, Qualitative Evaluation, and Psychology from Stanford, U.C., Berkeley, and Chapman Universities. She is an STA Jungian Sandplay Practitioner, EMDR clinician, and ongoing student of Jungian psychology. She is an experienced speaker and presenter to professionals and organizations. MarthaElin Mountain is a seasoned midlife traveler; she has witnessed the search for identity, meaning, and purpose from a front-row seat. Tucked into her back pocket is her cherished notebook of collected wisdom, wonderings, and lessons learned, with her pencil always ready for new entries!
