About the Book
An Astronaut’s Song Why are we going up there There’s nothing really up there But some clouds and the rest of the sky What do we hope to find What do we wish to see We can never reach every planet Or touch every star What’s the point of it all What we need to be concerned about is All the shit we are putting up there We are killing ourselves with Technology It’s the wave of the future It’s the new next big thing Whatever it is I’m not buying it I’m not a trick and pony show I got dreams, I got big dreams But it’s not up there it’s down here Looking into your eyes I just want to ask What’s wrong There are plenty of nice green trees Right in the backyard Waiting to be touched But now I’m not An Astronaut No more, huh Am I a tree hugger now Hell, no But I’ll tell you one thing I get along with some trees better Than I do with some people I know Sad huh Sad but true But that just becomes some line Someone put down one Time In hopes that someone Would understand that they Were good at some moment in Time
