A Man is Logic, A Woman is Emotion In giving up drinking and in giving up my gun to a friend when I was in trouble, I dared to remain alive and to keep growing. That was logical. Being a man I used the strongest tool available in trying to get help for myself. I used what made sense. I decided to choose to keep on living and surviving; to allow common sense to rule over my feelings and emotions as I fought to stay alive. The battle was love and the enemy was hate, non-forgiveness, and anger. None of those feelings and emotions was based on doing what makes sense in order to keep growing as a person. I made the choice as a man to keep living and to help my fiancé escape from those feelings that were not of love. I decided to e-mail her and hoped for a response, which I finally received on January 08, 2011. It was an honest letter to me about the things both she and I needed to change in order to continue in relationship, as well as the statement, “I have never loved a man so deeply in my whole life.” Surrender became easy and instant. Love took over logic. I would never be the same unforgiving, arrogant, abusive jerk to a woman ever again. I learned to listen and place her first. I won her heart back.
