Even if the dark clouds hovering in the gray sky look ominous, it's going to be a fantastic day. With no one around, no one to worry about me and no one who cares, I forge ahead. I may never return from the perilous undertaking I'm about to embark on. I might disappear into the dark mouth of the big, old barn and be swallowed up, never to be seen again! Will Gray Kitty and Rooster come looking for me. Will they miss their friend, I ponder. Let's put these ideas out of my pretty head and get on with it. Let's go! Are you coming? I have now reached the end of the road. A gigantic and I mean a gigantic gate is looming in front of me as I stand gawking with plate size, blue eyes. I turn and look down at Rooster who happens to be standing next to me, pretending not to be there and say, "This is as far as you can go, my buddy. You need to go and do what roosters do." He scratches with his long toes in the dirt as if to imply--have fun little girl and be happy as a lark. I grab a hold of the wire gate and go up, up, and up until I reach the top. I freeze in my tracks!

About the Author
I had fond memories as a child and would like to share some of my adventures with you. I started reading as a child and have written many stories through the years with the dream of having one published some day. I've had the honor of teaching grown-ups with a 4th grade level of literacy to read and open up a whole new world for them to see with words. I live with my husband David and our mini schnauzer Greta, in Florida.
