SYNOPSIS The book entitled, “The Modern Day Prophet” by R. C. Watson is nonfiction and catalogued under Religion 220 – 230 in the Dewey Decimal System. Within these file numbers are topics ranging from the Bible to Christianity and Christian Theology. The Modern Day Prophet contains a meticulous blend of the writer’s real-life experiences, Bible text, scientific information, and is flavored with prophetic revelations, and can serve as a handbook to other prophetic believers, helping them avoid some of the pitfalls of this type of ministry. It also offers much enlightenment to those who have not become born-again. Even though there is no new Bible doctrine contained within the pages, The Modern Day Prophet expounds on some uncommon and oftentimes hush-hush topics. Nevertheless, the story needs to be told, and the information dispensed. Some of the prophetic sayings contained within the pages are in the form of teaching dialogues coming directly from the Holy Spirit, which are, as the Holy Spirit says, “are beginning to be taught.” Jesus told his disciples in the 16th chapter of John that he had many things to tell them but they were not able to bear them. Many of today’s believers are ready to receive such information because of a yearning to know more about occurrences in the spiritual realm and those things going on around them. The Modern Day Prophet shows how the Holy Spirit desires to minister to the entire spectrum of the lives of God’s people. He, the Holy Spirit, is concerned about every aspect of living such as health, finances, real estate and dwelling, and even their vehicle. Most importantly, the Holy Spirit is concerned about the humanity as a whole coming into the knowledge of who Jesus is. The Holy Spirit is subject to show the believer the various demonic activities going on around them so that believer can address the issue in prayer and take the correct course of action. The Holy Spirit even searches the heart of men to see if they are susceptible to receive salvation or if there is any evil motive against their fellow man. There is an animated metaphor enacted by Mr. Fish and Mr. Crocodile characters as told by the Holy Spirit. The story exposes the true character of Satan and can be used as a lesson applied to real-life situations. Through the story, one can envision Jesus as the greatest parable maker who ever lived. The Modern Day Prophet goes on to reveal both the origin and the operation of demonic spirits and how they affect both animal and plant life. Though man is not able to overcome these entities in their entirety, he has learned through the development of his intellect to minimize how they affect humanity. The most expanded topic discussed pertains to demonic spirits and their relationship to free radical activity. Though demonic spirits still operate the same way they did when they entered the world thousands of years ago, their activity has escalated to a level wherein man’s life expectancy has progressively decreased to an average of about seventy years. However, through expanded knowledge acquired down through the centuries, those who learn to walk in the light of that knowledge and can access the resources; are able to prolong life to limited degrees. While Christians put emphasis on overcoming the infiltration and attacks of demonic spirit, secular society view the subject in milder terms as sickness, disease and growing old. Also contained within the pages is extended discussion on how free radicals in the body sometimes turn into tumors and cancers. The writer shares his experience at having seen an angel and presents information learned from the experience. All born-again believers and those who have a divine calling on their lives have at least one angle with them and a number of cherubim that are able to take the form of fire-like lights. All believers need to take care not to cause these angelic beings to leave due to sin. Halos appearing around the head of holy people in Renaissance art may very well be depictions of cherubim. Contained within the pages are proclamations of resources believers are commissioned to provide for receiving renewing in the spirit, restoration and healing. Those who do not believe this biblical doctrine are subject to walk in continuous bondages. Jesus is our master carpenter, and through his Holy Spirit, he repairs our temple where a portion of his Spirit dwells. The particulars of spiritual growth and development are not clearly defined in most of today’s churches; therefore, The Modern Day Prophet lays out a general and comprehensive overview of what it takes to grow spiritually and emerge Spiritual Mature. It also talks about why some fail to grow but remain at the Babe level throughout their Christian journey. Babes in Christ hardly facilitate the occurrence of miracles, signs, and wonders. Divorce and remarriage is a diversified area where each devout believer needs to seek the Lord to receive their own personal ruling. This is done through prayer and fasting. Sometimes, a reliable prophetic word from the Lord may be an alternative to fasting. On occasions, God saves both partners in a marriage and the marriage remains intact. Sometimes in other instances, God may separate the couple and save only one of them, and for that reason, it may not be expedient for the couple to resume the marriage. The Modern Day Prophet supports the Big Bang Theory and submits it in an inclusive way of how God performed what seems to be his greatest act, including proposed timeframes.
