The Magic Ring

Could there be a fortune in jewels beyond my imagination??? “Nah, I have a really good imagination!” I exclaimed. I opened the trunk as quietly as I could, holding my breath with excitement about what lye within. As light flooded into the trunk, I heard something, and I thought I felt something brush up against my right shoulder, but nothing was there. I reached down into the trunk and pulled out what appeared to be a rolled up old map and a small burlap bag about the size of my marble bag. “Is that all???” I gasped. “What a joke. And I thought there would be riches…”I sat down with a thud on one of the old chairs with both objects in my hands. I put the map across my lap and tried to open the small bag. Reaching inside, I felt this small lump and slowly lifted it out. There was something hard wrapped in a piece of paper and tied with an old string. My curiosity was peeked, so I tried to untie the knot in the string. It must have been tied for a very long time. It would not budge at first, but finally, I got it loose by tugging and pulling on the string with my teeth. In fact, I pulled so hard that the paper and whatever was in it went flying across the attic. I jumped out of the chair sending the old map flying through the air. I started crawling around on the floor until I found this really cool golden ring with a sparkling red ruby. I picked it up and held it in my hand. Next to where the ring had been lying on the floor was a small folded piece of paper that only said “Let the Adventures Begin…”
