About the Author
Rev. Billie D. Hanes, daughter of the late Billie Robena Parks Douglas and John Doc Douglas, Sr., was ordained to ministry in 1998. Born again in 1977, Rev. Billie has sought to share the message of salvation and life in Christ since her new birth experience. Her desire is that all men, women, and children would come to know Jesus as Savior and Lord and live a Holy Spirit-controlled life. A native of Kannapolis, NC, the 9th of 10 children, Billie was raised in a home in which God was honored and worshiped and was the center of many family activities. She has ministered in song and dramatic presentations with her siblings for many years.
Founder and President of True Worship Ministries, Inc. Durham, NC, Rev. Billie serves as the worship leader and keyboardist for the ministry team. Through this “ministry on wheels”, Rev. Billie conducts many music workshops and travels far and near with a team of singers and musicians to share the gospel message in song and to encourage others to offer praise and worship to the true and living God.
A conference speaker and host, Rev. Billie is married to Bishop Franklin O. Hanes, Sr., Pastor of The Greater Canaan Missionary Baptist Church, Mebane, NC. She serves in ministry there as the Senior Associate Pastor. They reside in Durham, NC.
