About the Book

A big change came when her school was asked to integrate. Only the cream of the crop was asked to attend the school with white majority. Would she be asked to attend? A better life was awaiting her, but she had to choose the right path--a path that would place her in the right place at the right time. Her naïve and innocent way of thinking was balanced by her drive for the type of life she longed for. This young intelligent girl of little means is torn between finding a place in Corporate America or becoming a teacher. Going to college was her life’s dream. No one in her family had ever been to college. Could she be the first to begin a new way of life? Would her family be able to afford to send her to college? When romance enters her life, would it take her away from her dreams of becoming a teacher? Would she listen to the voice of her father or would she listen to her heart.? Answers to all of these questions and more exciting reading will have you, the readers, unable to put this book down. AS ITS AUTHOR, I encourage you to read it. Linda D. Robbins, pen-name, LRDiane

About the Author

A girl from a small town in Georgia, face challenges when odds at times were against her. She was from a large, poor family. But with determination, she rose above all adversities. Nothing was going to take her away from her dreams of becoming a teacher. With the encouragement of her father and example of her mother, she accepted who she was and remained mindful of always being herself. Infused with the expression used by her father, “EVERYTHING’S GONNA BE ALRIGHT,” she kept her life positive with a resolution to become SOMEBODY and not just ANYBODY. Regardless of how things turned out in her life, she knew that life did not stand still, it progressed. She moved from adolescence into young adulthood with a drive that could not be easily shaken. Whether making decisions or anything else, she was not easily persuaded beyond her own intuition. Viewing the world within her space, she walked the chalk-line with ethics that would lead her to a life of success. The choice of becoming a teacher was not welcomed by money hungry predecessors that surrounded her. She knew that her destiny in life was set regardless of how much money she would make. A veteran teacher of thirty-two years, she has always had the desire to become a writer. Although she spent many years in the classroom, her inner passion was writing. To authorship her first book has been her life’s goal. It is her hopes of becoming a well-known writer in the future. She expects to see her books on the shelves of every bookstore across the country. This is just the first of many.
