Ronnie had lost his grip on his big lot of girl. They both went flying, she smashing headlong onto a table shared by Groner, James and Oute. By this time in the town of Garden, Dosia and Mayor Tip had held a commando raid on the nearby houses, announcing at each that extension cords were to be handed over as they were needed in the pig iron loading arena. The result was a Rube Goldberg-like conglomeration of lamps, trouble lamps, and electric cords, the most of which darkened a home or part of one or that made a radio, a television, or a reading lamp as defunct as Bixby’s warehouse. Perseverance they knew to be the mother of invention, thus the pair with prideful endurance soon proclaimed a workable turntable installation. In the commanding Sousa notes the pig lifters shed their zombie stances and became marchers. Mayor Tip and Dosia’s record player belted the final notes of the Stars and Stripes Forever just as Del placed the last of 507 pigs. They’d snuggled 50,700 pounds of pigs neatly onto the Lufkin.

About the Book
The story begins with Del Platt working with a double bit axe in a stand of aspen trees harvesting tiny logs called excelsior bolts. The bolts are loaded onto semi trailers and the trailers are pulled to market by either a Mack or a Reo truck. Del soon falls in love with the trucks and even deeper in love with Dosia, his adopted first cousin. Soon they arrive at the church with the Mack and its towering load of bolts. They elope and begin an adventutous life on the haul roads of Michigan and of vast America expanses. Each night they cuddle upon the Mack seat, their romance freeing their minds too far from money woes; truck repairs, and balding tires. In addition to woe, the story is packed with humor, romance, and delightful interactions of colorful characters. The author prefers to write stories with surprise endings.
About the Author
In grade six my teacher asked us to write a story with the topic being of our own choice. I was frightened later when she selected me to read my story to my school mates. They kept laughing and I stopped to get them to quit but when I began again the laughter resumed. Finally, I surmised that even the eighth graders were enjoying my story. Later in The Three Door Dodge book I was able to include a bit of that story along with several other I had written. I've been writing about all of my life, but the hard way - via typewriter, literary agents, and waiting and rewriting. I achieved little success except for an occasional blip in a magazine and of a serving eleven years as the editor of a annual science honorary magazine. I've published numerous scientific articles and for a time I published articles in a weekly enterainment magazine where I explained some serious science made enjoyable by humor. Computers and self publishing have made it possible for me to publish novels. To date I've written nine novels.
