About the Book

The Quetzal (pronounced Ketsel) is a bird of the Central American rain forests. It has a red crest and red, white and green plumage. The male bird also has spectacular, long green tail feathers. It was the Holy Bird of the Maya Indians of Yucatán.

About the Author

John Oswald was educated at the Whitgift Middle School in Croydon, Surrey. He served during WW2 in the Royal Artillery in the UK and northern France, and then as an officer in the Intelligence Corps in the Middle East, Italy and Austria. After his working life in machinery export, he has retired and is living with his wife in the Welsh Marches.
