About the Author

Frank D. Sandage, Doctorate of Education, Indiana University, Bloomington, 1974; Master of Arts, San Diego State University; Bachelor of Arts, Southeastern Louisiana University. This publication, The Civil War Veterans of Perry County, marks the Sandage bicentennial of residence in Perry County (1810 – 2010). Rev. Thomas Sandage (1778-1856) was our Hoosier Pioneer. Fifteen Sandages served in the Civil War with 897 other men from Perry County. Included here are the names of 183 who perished in the Southern States. Frank’s winter residence is in Florida.
