About the Book

A land uniting, expectations rising, civilisation now threatened by a dark and terrible power in a world where nothing is quite as it seems.

Hollam’s desire is simple. He just wants to raise a family with the woman he loves; but trouble always seems to shadow him. The subject of Kalkassian prophecy and fear, Hollam is soon forced to defend his life and to confront the legendary Void, a mighty and malevolent force he does not know how to fight.

Desperately seeking help in his homeland of Roumanhi, Hollam turns to the rulers, Cail and T’skya, to provide the aid he so badly needs. Instead he finds his allies dwindling, his distrust growing and his hopes shattering.

Feats of great courage and sacrifice soon dominate Hollam’s life as he tries to unravel dark mysteries and save his home from decimation. But his path is paved with agonizing loss, betrayal and torture – soon everyone and everything he really cares about is put in jeopardy.

About the Author

My name is JE Browning and I would like to tell you a little bit about myself.

I was born in Germany to English parents and moved to Wiltshire, England, when I was two and I went to school locally. Following my A levels I won an English Speaking Union Scholarship to study in America for a year, which was an amazing experience. I then went on to study drama and set design at Aberystwyth University. Following this I gained a diploma in teaching English as a foreign language and went to l work in Greece for four years in 1992.

On my return to England I did a few odd jobs and then went on to join Wiltshire Police. In 2001 I left to join Wiltshire Council as an emergency planning officer, training people to respond to emergencies and working with a variety of agencies including the emergency services, military, health services etc. Part of the job is to write response plans and to come up with scenarios for exercises as well as running them.

Although I had the concept of the first book in the tales of Roumanhi series when I was a young girl, it was not until I lived in Greece that I put pen to paper, and it was not until 2010, some 18 years later, that I decided to publish Homequest: Liberation, the first novel in the series. The reaction to Liberation was extremely enthusiastic and there was a demand for a sequel from my fans. As a result Homequest: Decimation has been lovingly produced...and the rest or the series is awaiting my attention.

Writing is a joy and I have a great passion for the world I have created and the characters that inhabit it, but with a full time job, a household to run and a kickboxing club, as well as various furry critters to look after, and now with two books to market, there doesn't seem enough hours in the day to get everything done!

I do, however, promise to do my very best not to neglect my heroes and heroines because they deserve to be known by a world outside their own.
