THE SHINY NEW PENNY See the child with his shiny new penny? The choices before him are so many. Watch how he takes his time, To see what treasure he can find. He savors each sight that he sees. Contemplating how to spend his penny. Trying to make the very best choice. And finally we hear his timid voice. Asking for the candy bar that cost too much. As the clerk says “I’m sorry” he feels a touch. A tall man he has never seen before, Says “Son you can have anything in this store.” The child leaves with his candy and a smile. Thanking the tall stranger all the while. The stranger says wait a minute son. Here’s your penny. Pass it on to someone.

About the Book

About the Author
I started writing poetry in high school and continued throughout my life. Some of my poems came from my own life experiences and some came from the experiences of friends and family. All of my poems reflect the "feelings" of life, both good and bad. For it is the "feelings" that carry us through life and outside the boundaries of life itself. Past the day to day living, the children, old folks, school, work, church, and into the depths of our being and hearts. That is where you will find yourself "Outside the Boundaries of Our Lives". I currently live in a small, but growing town called Winter Garden, Florida. I am married to my highschool sweetheart and have three sons, of which I am very proud. They each have wonderful wives and we also have two beautiful grandchildren.
