A Hero's Plight

The entire army got up and mounted their horses as they raced into Nijad as fast as they could. To this army of conquerors, Nijad was one of the last safe havens of man. Nijad city was not a conquering city but a city of peace and holy grace. The city gleamed as a pure sanctuary of divinity under the dark sky. The charge was the most ghastly sight ever seen. Hundreds of soldiers were rushing past in a panic, utter chaos toward a glorious castle which was fading from sight. In the battle below, there were many dead corpses and random shadows moving quick as lightening as countless men fell to the ground without just cause. As the men rushed past him, Zanatose stood in the middle of the stampede glued to the spot with dread in his heart, his face was white as chalk as he fearfully watched the shadows at work. He could not comprehend the horrors he was watching. Edwin, Bill, Brett, and Katie went to his side as they drew their weapons. They patted him on the back and Brett said, “Zanatose I know you can overcome this, if any of us are meant to overcome this hell, it’s you and the rest of us. You’re not alone. Together we will survive this and we will stop these monsters.” “Yeah!” Bill, Edwin, and Katie yelled with forced battle cries. Zanatose slowly nodded his head and drew both Blazer and Shadow without much thought. “Let’s do this,” he said as he gave a vicious nod and led his men down the hill into the sadistic battle.
