About the Author

Dan Smith is a 2010 inductee in the Virginia Communications Hall of Fame, an award-winning journalist for four decades, author of five books, a Public Radio commentator, a photographer of some note and an award-winning blogger. He founded the Roanoke Regional Writers Conference, co-founded Valley Business FRONT magazine and is a frequent college guest lecturer. He is deeply involved in his community and is a father of two and grandfather of one. He lives in Roanoke, Va.
