Harmony Wanted
I don’t want to argue, fuss, or fight
I’d rather be happy and filled with delight
I claim my realm, my state of existence
I want to be me with little resistance
Please don’t repress the will of my ways
Provide no decrees on my deeds of the day
Encourage and commend that which I do
Praise and respect shall endear me to you
What is Heaven Like?
Have you ever wondered what heaven is like?
I imagine it is peaceful, pleasant, and bright
A more beautiful place I’ve never known
Dead young friends now perfectly grown
I see old people that look perfectly young
Words of their songs are delightfully sung
Apparel well-pressed, they’re perfectly neat
Those I observe are wonderfully sweet
My mind sees a hillside covered with trees
A vision that’s perfect, without deformities
The trees’ fruit is spotless; its color is bright
The land’s green flora has not a weed in sight
No broken branches, no fruit on the ground
A gorgeous bird is making a beautiful sound
The sky is deep blue; birds soaring in flight
The moon appears alive, it seems so bright
No Meddling
Granted to live an exclusive life
An identity to do as one might
A choice to be a distinctive soul
Deciding how to play your own role
Born to life with the same gift
A chance to choose to take a risk
Separate paths we all do take
Freely choosing to suit our sake
Do not meddle with affection’s path
Deceitful efforts unleash one’s wrath
My heart’s trail is only for view
Stay on the road that’s unique to you
Don’t try to repair another’s life
A cunning fix results in strife
Don’t be cute; don’t be smart
Or meddle to break or mend a heart
Please employ this judicious tool
Choose your own path on which to rule
I will decide the way for me
Life is better; just wait and see
Escape from the World
High in the mountains, to freedom’s place
To find fresh air and enjoy the space
To camp alone and be one with the world
Where earth is like an unspoiled pearl
Enjoying the world in its native state
Far away from the vast city’s fate
The light fades, I see the first star appear
It’s quiet and peaceful; no fear is here
A gentle breeze refreshes my soul
As I bind with nature and consider my role
The trees like shadows dance in the wind
As I ponder my life and its meaning within
I feel the warmth of the campfire’s light
The gleam off the lake is a wondrous sight
More stars arrive, the loch fades from view
The scene is inspiring, my spirits renewed
Positive thoughts help keep me alive
As doing what’s right helps me survive
A break from society’s modern pizzazz
Back to life’s basics, to enjoy and to have
The Creator has sent us here to earth
To enjoy the world, a gift from birth
Don’t get caught up in the world of man
Enjoy life’s beauties outside while you can
The Dramatized Task
Little miss is teary-eyed, crying with a strain
As her brother is outside playing in the rain
She is upset because she didn’t clean her room
Is her penance just, to be shut in with a broom?
Crying is a dramatic tool children use for power
To sob is a waste of energy, of a precious hour
Seize every moment, waste not a second of time
What a silly rule, she thinks. It’s easier to whine
Maybe she’ll discover to sing during chores
A practice her brother uses so labor never bores
Simple tricks can help the job become really fun
Scheme to evade your work, and only misery is won
To spend time how you’d like truly is the goal
Stop evading the task; don’t demean your soul
Working is a milestone for doing as you please
Indolence doesn’t help to meet the family’s needs
Can inclination on your part make the household whole?
Make delightful efforts, play the exemplar’s role
Everyone is partial to taking the easiest course
Miserable, whiny behavior is an ineffective force
Be keen, use ethics to guide your work today
A joyous disposition will surely pave the way
Cheerful competitions for a job better done
Worker, singer, dancer: a winner having fun
