Love Hates

I went upstairs to my bedroom and as I entered my room I took inventory of what was there. The room had a full size bed that was already made, a matching nightstand with a lace cover, and an antique dresser in the far corner. In the middle of another wall was the doorway to the bathroom. The walls were a powder blue with white trim. The room was very cozy and helped me to feel relaxed. Maybe a bit too relaxed because all of a sudden I started to feel light headed. I sat down on the bed and realized that my suitcase and bag were not in my room.

“Ma’am” a low voice called to me and I looked up in the direction of the voice coming from down the short hallway. A slim young man strode in with my luggage. One bag under his left arm, a suitcase in his left hand, and another suitcase firmly held in his right hand as he entered my room. His skin was a dark bronze color and his hair was glossy black, cascading like a waterfall down just past his muscular shoulders.

“Where would you like these?” He asked with a hint of Spanish in his voice.

I jumped from the bed, my hair already wild and frizzy from the heat and the fact that I had not brushed it after sleeping on it in the car for hours on end during the trip. I took the bags, forgetting just how heavy they really were, and set them on my bed. As I turned around I said, “Thanks” but he was already gone. He was gone so fast, as if he were never there, gone before I could even turn around.

Who was that guy? My thoughts were in a whirlwind and I was hoping to see him again. I did not know why I had that thought and little did I know that he would change my life from this day on for the rest of my life. Reality or fantasy, how was anyone to know what was going on.
