Harry Hudson and his family lived in a small two-bedroom house up a path. They didn’t have much but they had each other. Mr. Hudson worked on a farm to provide for his family. The Hudson’s’ had no car so Mr. Hudson had to walk to work which was on a farm. Mrs. Hudson was always reading the Bible. She would sing yes Jesus loves me every day. Harry couldn‘t understand why she sung that song when there were so many things they didn‘t have. Every time he heard his mother singing the song he would say to himself “yeah right“.

It is a short story about a Christian family that struggles to make it in society. The family survives through their faith in Jesus. Their son struggles with knowing whether Jesus loves him.
About the Author
Shenietta Monique Ruffin was born December 15, 1971 to April Ruffin and Jimmy Lewis Clemmons. She is a Christian mother of three beautiful children. In her spare time she loves to write, read, draw, and spend time with her family. She graduated from Pitt Community College with an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education.
