Have you ever watched a clock tick time by? One second, two seconds, three, then five and so on. Poof. A minute has passed. It will never come back. Once again, something starts, is here for a time and then it is gone. These changes are like mini-deaths in some ways...but death is a big change. Maybe a grandparent or mom or dad dies. Or perhaps it's a spouse, a sibling, a child or even a pet that we lose. It hurts. And the pain is felt deep within us. But we can learn a lot from the grief we experience. The ache we feel in our gut that makes us want to claw at the wall or scream or cry on someone’s shoulder…it’s a teacher. It doesn’t look like the ones we have at school. No skirt or slacks – not standing at the chalkboard, but it’s there with a lesson.

About the Book
Have you or a friend or family member lost someone to death? Perhaps it was a parent, grandparent, sibling or pet? How did you feel? For most people it's terrifying and feels like the end of the world. My Teacher's Name is Grief is for mature youth (teens) and adults who need a little nudge of inspiration to get moving and get living again. It is meant to be a gift book, for a person with a hurting heart, written by someone who has been in the trenches and come out the other side.
About the Author
Madeleine Miehls lives in Michigan where she operates Write Side of Business LLC, a business marketing and writing consultancy. At the age of 16 she lost her mom to cancer, and after the birth of her daughter, she did not expect history to repeat, but it did when her husband succumbed to the same disease.
